Who Benefits?
The Dacorum Community Trust (DCT) An independent charity founded in 1976, DCT was set up by local people to raise money to make grants to provide whatever help is needed in the community, and to ensure local causes needing assistance are not overlooked at a time when existing forms of support are limited, and when attention is diverted towards high-profile national appeals. DCT helps many other local voluntary organisations so that donations will be used to make effective grants where they are really needed. www.dctrust.org.uk

Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter
The Mayor, Councillor Mrs. Carol Green has chosen The Dacorum Community Trust as her charity for her Mayoral year (2008-2009) aiming for long term support to ensure the Trust can continue its vital work in the future.
“As times get harder the Trust is able to make emergency grants for food, for heating and cooking facilities and even for shoes,” Councillor Green said. “Problems are often hard to see in our lovely borough, but sadly for all sorts of reasons, many are struggling to cope. A small grant at a stressful time can make a life-changing difference. I would like to thank you in advance for supporting this charity and I am looking forward to seeing the wonderful cars on the day - fingers crossed for nice weather!”
